The Project Background
Ballysaggart GAA came to us in mid 2024 looking for advise on Solar PV. They had availed of a grant for Solar PV through Waterford City and County Council. Seamus approached us to use our expertise in order to maximise the system they installed – ensuring they got the most benefits from the system as possible.
Work Completed
After many site visits, meetings and endless new ideas shared between Clive and Seamus, the perfect system was designed for Ballysaggart GAA. They received an 18.4kw system (42 panels), 10kw inverter and 10kw battery.
Project Outcome
Ballysaggart GAA received 10kw of battery to ensure they could maximise there use of every Kw of electricity generated. This allows the club to reap the benefits of there Solar PV system, even when the sun has gone down by pulling the excess electricity generated throughout the day from the battery – not the Grid. Another great way for Ballysaggart GAA to maximise the system installed, along with all the added hidden benefits. Ballysaggart GAA not only wanted to educate themselves on Solar PV, they also wanted to educate their community. To accommodate this fantastic idea, talks are currently underway to install a flat screen monitoring system which will display the clubs plant, showing the generation, and what the club is using on a daily basis. This will give a great insight into how much the club is actually benefitting from their Solar PV install.
